"Can two friends sleep together and still love each other in
the morning?"
“Why do you ask?” Clark’s dorm mate Martin
leaned over and smiled. Clark’s face went beet red.
“Is it anyone I know?”
Clark shook his head. After all Martin was fairly new in his life.
There was a commotion at the far side of the quad as a limo pulled up. The chauffer went around, opening the back
door and who should gracefully step out but Lex. Clark wondered if the man
had radar. He stood up and brushed the grass from his jeans and waited for Lex
to cross the small area between them.
Next to him, he could see out of the
corner of his eye, that Martin had rose to his feet as
well. “Clark?”
Lex stepped into their space. He was
outfitted in black and deep purples today. Tilting his head slightly he took off
his sunglasses. “Hello Clark.”
“Lex.” Clark wondered if Martin noticed how out of breath he was. He looked to
Martin who looked stunned and guessed he had. He’d have a lot to explain later.
“This is Martin. We share a dorm.”
Martin extended his hand to Lex, who he
noticed was looking over him from stem to stern. A slanted smile came to his
lips and Martin wondered if he’d passed or failed inspection. Lex shook his
hand firmly. “If Clark here ever needs me, please let me know.” Martin found a business
card pressed into his hand that looked as if it might be etched in gold. He
nodded numbly.
“I can take care of myself Lex,” Clark teased. He’d been
over this with Lex a thousand times. But ever since they reconciled Lex was
extremely over protective of him. He didn’t want to admit how cute he thought
it was and hoped it really meant that Lex might share a modicum of his
feelings.
“As long as I’m around to help, yes,
you can.” Lex teased back.
Martin began to smile. There was enough
electricity flowing back and forth between these two to light up Omaha for a month. Clark’s usual happy grin
had grown to a blinding brilliance that Martin knew he’d never seen on his room
mate’s face. Looking to Lex he could see how gone the guy was if the mushy
dopey look on his face said anything. “Wow, I’d say go for it Clark.” He slapped Clark on the back with a
grin, shoving him into Lex’s space.
Lex frowned. “Go for what Clark? You
getting into trouble on campus already?” He put a hand on Clark’s shoulder and Martin
noticed Clark took a small step closer.
“Um, no,” Clark blushed furiously
while looking at his shoes,” Martin here was just commenting on an earlier
conversation.” He continued to stare downwards.
“If I came at an inopportune time I can
easily go.” Lex took a step back, his hand sliding down Clark’s arm as he turned.
“No!” Clark and Martin both yelled at
once. Lex and Clark both turned to stare at Martin.
The lanky red head from St. Paul held up his hands. “Don’t get mad at me. I just want you to get over
yourselves and get a move on already.” He looked seriously at Clark and then turned
around and left with a wave over his shoulder.
“Clark’s got a question to ask you Lex. He made the mistake of asking me
when he should have been asking you. Have fun!”
“I am going to kill him.” Clark muttered.
“Tsk, tsk Clark. I think he’s been
rather helpful. Now what’s this about a question?” Lex once again took a step
closer to Clark. Their little dance had taken them against a tree trunk and Clark was now effectively
trapped against it. Lex looked highly amused by their situation. Leaning
forward he breathed into Clark’s ear. “Question?”
Gulping past the lump in his throat Clark whispered, “Can two
friends sleep together and still love each other in the morning?"
Lex reared back with a snarl suddenly
on his face. “You asked Martin that! What exactly is going on between you two?”
Clark grinned and the smiled even more before pulling Lex a bit closer
by wrapping his arms around his neck. “Jealous?”
“I – no, wait – he said that you should
ask me and that you should go for it, Clark did he mean what I
think he meant?”
“You are adorably sexy when you’re
confused,” Clark whispered with pink in his cheeks.
Lex grinned and leaned in, his mouth
inches away from Clark’s. He stared at the full lips wondering what they’d be like to
kiss. “Go for it Clark. You’re younger than me so you’d have to make the first move.”
The next second Lex found himself
pressed into the tree where Clark had been only a
second ago. Clark’s whole body was like an inferno of marble-like muscles. Lex
shivered to feel the younger man’s body through his clothes as he caressed his
lower back while they kissed for the first time. Clark was sure to leave him
with swollen lips with his enthusiasm but Lex hardly cared.
The air crackled between them and Lex
realized that Clark would fuck him against the tree without thinking twice about it.
He shoved Clark hastily away. “I think we’ve caused enough of a scene don’t you?”
Clark looked around sheepishly. The air was suddenly rife with cat
calls and whistles. “Where do you want to go?”
“Somewhere we can do some research into
that question of yours? Perhaps my penthouse?”
“I’ve got classes.” Clark admitted reluctantly.
From nearby Martin reappeared with a
cup of coffee in his hand. “Go on Clark. I’ll take notes this
time and explain that you are doing Independent Research.”
“You can stay.” Lex quipped with a
small grin in Martin’s direction. Martin raised his cup in salute accompanied
with a mock bow.
“But we can’t,” Clark replied happily
pulling Lex toward the limo for further study.
